Freqeuntly Asked Questions - FAQ -
How are Wright Brothers Construction & Design Services different from other remodel services?
"Service" - If you know exactly what you want, Wright Brothers can install and remodel exactly to your specifications. You get the hardware, finishes, design and color you want for your remodel project. You can schedule our services to your time schedule, not someone else's schedule.
How Do I Trust the Bids I Receive on a Project?
You may have heard this old adage, "Always obtain three bids on a project". That would include several factors. If a service provider is recommended by a friend and you have seen his finished projects, are satisfied with the quality of work and have met them personally - as long as you feel comfortable with the service provider, you may only need to obtain an estimate from this service provider. If you feel their price is reasonable, then proceed with your project. However, if you are obtaining bids from several contractors which you have no personal experience with, and no personal recommendations, then get three bids and choose the service provider based upon your comfort level.
Why Do Prices Vary Greatly on the Bids I Receive?
There are a number of different variables that go into pricing construction bids. Check the obvious first. Ensure the estimates include the exact scope of work. If estimates are very vague and you cannot decipher the information, ask for clarification from the service provider - IN WRTING. If you do not get acceptable written results, remove the contractor from you bidding process. The level of service delivered by a contractor significantly affects the cost of the project. If the contractor spends lot of time choosing materials, attending to every detail and extras of the project, so you won't have to, it will cost a bit more. When the contractor carries all of the required and proper insurances, his prices will be higher than a 'pick-up contractor'. The quality of work, which is difficult to reflect in a written estimate is factored into costs. Having confidence in the contractor, for the owner, is worth the extra money to most. The cost difference may be confirmed by calling for references and/or visiting projects the contractor has completed.
What can I, as a homeowner, expect to do while a remodeling project is being done at my house?
ASK QUESTIONS. If something doesn't look quite right, or you believe you ordered one thing, and something different is being installed, ASK!! Good contractors want to know immediately, if things are not correct. There no such thing as a dumb question. Also, there is going be dust and dirt in your house during any remodel. No matter how careful the service provider is, expect it. Make it simple for the service provider to have easy access to your house. Offer them a key to your home, if possible. This makes your life much more easy to schedule. If you are remodeling a kitchen, make alternate plans for meals, outside of the kitchen. Most kitchen projects are estimated to take 6-8 weeks. Have the refrigerator set up in an alternate location by your contractor, away from the dirt and dust. If you have a bathroom remodel, it being your only bathroom, be sure to have the contractor reset the toilet each day.
